The Boulanger Foundation
Who We Are
The Boulanger Foundation Inc
The Boulanger Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that believes in second chances. Many diverse circumstances can limit the individual’s ability to live independently such as being released from prison without any available resources or leaving an abusive relationship with the very clothes on their backs without a plan B. Studies show that reentry remains one of the most significant challenges facing the criminal justice system, as correctional facilities in the United States alone release approximately 600,000 individuals back into communities each year. Thus, creating barriers including limited access to education, and scant job opportunities which are more than likely ineligible for public benefits. Furthermore, it is also stated that 20 people per minute are being physically abused by an intimate partner, concluding nearly 10 million individuals are affected by intimate partner violence (also known as domestic violence).
As an organization, we want to provide resources for those who need to transition and reentering into society. We promote the idea of breaking intergenerational trauma by overcoming codependency, lack of financial resources, and the ability to make sound decisions for oneself. With our programs offered, we will provide services such as referrals to transitional housing, access to public benefits, mental health, recovery, career and occupational training, and much more to ensure each of our recipients are properly prepared to enter the world with a fighting chance. Our core values at the Boulanger Foundation highlight the importance of safety, stability, and a chance at life. We want to encourage, embrace and empower those who may not deem themselves worthy with the tools and resources to overcome.
